PRACTICUM PROFILES TOOL

The Practicum Profiles Tool (PPT)is an online tool for teachers, teacher educators, and student teachers to access more personalized information about their practicum experience. Since Teacher mentoring at schools is highly dependent on contexts of practice and multiple human interactions, the core idea of the PPT aims at developing profiles both for teaching (mentor's profile) and learning (student teacher's profile) in the practicum. The tool automatically selects the best dyads for the practicum according to predefined matching criteria: (1) professional criteria (e.g., mentors’ availability, skills, and knowledge), (2) pedagogical criteria (e.g., student teachers’ backgrounds, performance levels, etc.; and (3) institutional criteria (e.g., school quality standards, resources offered, ICT level, proximity, etc.).
